Startup Sandbox to Manage Biotech Intern Program for UC Santa Cruz
Internship program bridges the academic and business worlds to create opportunities for real-world enrichment for bioscience grad students.

Realizing a Long-Term UCSC Vision
Startup Sandbox has announced that it will coordinate and administer UC Santa Cruz’s corporate internship program for graduate students in molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics and other biotech fields.
UCSC and IATC, the University’s Office of Industry Alliances and Technology Commercialization, have been seeking an outside partner to create a bridge between the University staff and students and the biotech and biomedical industry. Startup Sandbox, with their years of experience helping the university convert their excellent academic research into commercially available and successful businesses is a natural match.
Matching Motivated Grad Students and Companies
“Over the years, we have helped entrepreneurs find and hire the best candidates available to join their teams,” said Lou Pambianco, CEO of Startup Sandbox. “The Sandbox’s new affiliation with UC Santa Cruz enables us to broaden our scope by matching grad students that want to learn in a corporate environment with companies that can offer them real-world biotech experience.”
